From the Church Moderator

“One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

—Philippians 3:13-14

When life takes an unexpected turn, we are tempted to fall into the spiritual traps of worry, bitterness, anger and hurt. Our plans and hopes did not work out as we expected. We do not see progress in our Spiritual life or the life of our Church. However, God wants us to learn from these experiences and then look to the future with hope and anticipation.

As a congregation, we are going through a difficult time. A time of disappointment,     confusion, and anger. However, God would not have us live in the past and dwell on our frustrations, but rather look forward to the opportunities he places before us. He would ask each of us to keep our eyes on him and his plan for our lives and the life of this church.

As Moderator and a member of the Executive Board, I ask you to be in prayer for our Church, our Mission and each other. May we listen to each other, value one another and hold one another up in prayer. May we look ahead and be expectant for what God can do in our lives and the life of this church. May we work together showing God’s love and kindness to all.
